Thanks to Netflix The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is more popular than it ever has been since its highly anticipated release in 2015. The Witcher 3, announced as the Top Seller of 2019 on Steam has always been popular but never quite as popular as it is now after the release of the TV Show ‘The Witcher’ on Netflix. Steam has seen a rapid surge of interest with a new record set today of over 93k players. Yikes!
The surge of players comes 4 years after the games release and is most likely caused by the success of the TV show bringing in a new audience of players. Those who have seen the show but never played the game get to experience everything in a new and immersive way and those who have played the game get to sit back and watch the adventures of Geralt unfold in a whole new perspective on the TV. The Witcher 3 is also currently on sale making the decision to buy a real easy one.
Should I play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt?
If the books or TV series hasn’t given you enough reason to emerge yourself in the game then let us tempt you. If massive open worlds are your thing then you’ll be happy to know that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt offers exactly that with a massive amount of side-quests extending the playability even after the main story has been completed. It should also be noted that although the TV show has some clear comparisons to the game the story line is not directly related meaning you get fresh content.
The stats in this post refer to Steam only but the game can be downloaded and played on Steam, Xbox One, Switch and PS4.
